Everton continue to be linked with Watford manager Marco Silva.

Marco Silva, Manager of Watford gives his team instructions during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Watford enjoyed a much-needed 2-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, but the questions over Marco Silva’s future continue.

The Hornets had lost three games in a row heading into Sunday’s game, and the prospect of facing West Ham under new manager David Moyes was a potential banana skin.

However, Will Hughes struck early to put Watford in front, and new sensation Richarlison added a second after the break to give Watford a 2-0 win.

After three defeats in a row and rampant speculation over the future of manager Marco Silva, Watford needed a positive afternoon – but the attention will quickly turn back to Silva’s future.

The Portuguese boss, 40, only joined Watford from Hull City over the summer, but his impressive year has seen Everton mark him down as their top target to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked last month, with The Telegraph suggesting that majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has identified him as the top choice.

Silva was asked about the situation again on Sunday, but his non-committal comments from Sky Sports have sparked a major reaction from Everton fans on Twitter.

Many believe that Silva’s comments were something of a come-and-get-me plea to Everton, feeling that the former Sporting Lisbon boss wants a move to Goodison Park.

Others think that Silva must want a move to Merseyside, otherwise he would have categorically ruled out a move, and some are even welcoming him to the club already after his latest non-committal comments.
