Some Arsenal fans on Twitter believe that Lucas Torreira’s return might be imminent.

The powerful midfielder hasn’t kicked a ball for the Gunners since March due to an ankle injury.

He started running again outdoors on May 30 but hasn’t featured in any of Arsenal’s four Premier League and FA Cup games since Project Restart.

Mikel Arteta’s side are home to Norwich City this evening.

Torreira, a £27 million signing two years ago, sent out a pre-match tweet, stating that he’s ‘happy to be back trainig’.

And here’s how fans of the Emirates Stadium club responded on Twitter:

Arteta might be wise to give Torreira some minutes tonight.

Arsenal have an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on July 18 and the fitter Torreira is leading up to that one, the better for the Gunners’ chances of toppling Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley.

The good news is that the North Londoners have five Premier League games between now and then, so there’s plenty of time for the Uruguay international to get back up to speed in preparation for that one.
