Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy’s mistake against Leeds United at Elland Road in the Premier League this afternoon.
Leeds are 2-0 up against Chelsea at home in the league at the moment.
Brenden Aaronson put the West Yorkshire club in the lead in the 33rd minute, and Rodrigo doubled the advantage for the home team on 37 minutes.
Aaronson’s goal came as a result of Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy’s mistake.
Mendy got a back-pass in front of his own goal, and instead of clearing it away, he waited and waited.
Aaronson closed down, nicked the ball off Mendy, and tapped it into an empty net.
It was arguably the worst piece of goalkeeping we have seen in the Premier League so far this season.
And former Tottenham Hotspur striker and Match of the Day presenter Lineker has given his take on Twitter, as you can see below.

Gary Lineker on Edouard Mendy mistake for Chelsea v Leeds
Edouard Mendy is a very good goalkeeper, but the mistake he made for Chelsea against Leeds United was really bad.
The 30-year-old should have simply cleared the ball away and not put himself in a really bad position.
Hopefully the Chelsea goalkeeper will learn from his mistake against Leeds at Elland Road.
