It seems as though Chelsea defender Reece James has been sending out a few hints to Gareth Southgate of late after he was left out of the England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar because of injury.

And it starts with liking a post on his Twitter page involving his England teammates, including Manchester City duo Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips, as well as Tottenham hitman, Harry Kane.

Well, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson recently questioned Southgate’s call to leave the right-back out, yet risk injury-hit players Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker., who will be on that plane.

Merson added that if Tottenham striker Harry Kane was to be in James’ current position, then he would go, so he questioned ‘what’s the difference?’, as he told The Daily Star.

Those comments by the former Arsenal man were posted by a Chelsea-fan page, which was interestingly enough, liked by James, which proves that he agrees with what Merson is saying, as you can see below.

Another player Southgate also left out was Brentford striker Ivan Toney – Newcastle United hitman Callum Wilson was the man selected to play second fiddle to the Three Lions captain.

Well, Toney answered that recent snub by scoring a brace, including a stoppage-time winner, against the Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday.

That then followed James sending a message to the Brentford hitman saying ‘If I speak I am in trouble’, as posted by ESPN on Twitter.

The Chelsea man might not be going to the World Cup, but he is certainly letting off a few hints on social media.
