But, on each occasion, Aarons has struggled to stay fit once the season has started, making just 22 appearances – and scoring three goals – in all competitions across three campaigns.
Newcastle have been patient with the winger, a young player with great potential, but that might have to change very soon.
Aarons is now 21 years old, meaning he will count as part of Benitez’s 25-man squad in the Premier League for the coming season, where previously he had been young enough to avoid those limitations.

Newcastle have already signed Christian Atsu this summer, joining Matt Ritchie at St James’ Park, and other winger targets have been mooted – with SportoweFakty identifying Hull City’s Kamil Grosicki as a possible recruit.
In order to secure his future on Tyneside amid this competition, Aarons – who last played in August – must enjoy another fine pre-season before kicking on and establishing himself as a consistent Premier league performer.
