Granada winger Darwin Machis is desperate for goalkeeper Rui Silva to stay at the La Liga outfit despite interest from Everton, Barcelona and Inter Milan, as he told AS.
When you consider that Granada have gone from the Spanish second-tier to the Europa League knock-out stages in the space of two years, it is no surprise that scouts from all over the continent are taking a closer look at the players on offer at the Nuevo Los Carmenes.
While the likes of Yangel Herrera, Antonio Puertas and Machis himself have impressed in La Liga, shot-stopper Silva is the one everybody wants.
That might have something to do with the fact that the Portuguese glovesman is due to become a free agent in July.
Granada director Fran Sanchez told One Football last week that Silva has rejected the chance to sign a new deal and will therefore depart at the end of the season.
But Machis, the explosive Venezuelan winger, has not given up hope of playing alongside Silva again in 2021/21.
“Rui Silva has been showing a very high level for several years. It makes me very happy that he is doing well,” Machis said of his ever-reliable teammate, who has saved three penalties this season alone.
“We would like him to stay at Granada, but these are decisions of each player and wherever he ends up, I wish him the best.”
According to El Desmarque, Everton are interested in 26-year-old Silva.
The former Nacional stopper, who is also being linked with both Barcelona and Inter Milan, could replace Robin Olsen if Everton decide against signing the Roma loanee on a permanent basis.
