West Brom boss Sam Allardyce has openly confirmed to Sky Sports that he would be ‘interested’ in signing Bournemouth striker Josh King, who is also wanted by West Ham and Everton.

It seems as though the race for the Bournemouth hitman will be an interesting one this month given the number of clubs keen on his services.

The likes of West Ham and Everton are the other interested parties in the versatile attacker, according to the Daily Mail and the Sun.

Allardyce made it clear that whilst he would be keen on King, if the Norway international is ‘out of our price range’ then they won’t pursue the deal.

“No idea what the price may be [for King],” said Allardyce. “If the price is within our range then I think we would be interested, and if it’s out of our price range then we won’t.

“It’s a part of our process now to work tirelessly on outs and ins until the end of January. There’s no point me beating about the bush – everybody knows what we need to do.”

Both West Ham and West Brom need King the most, with the latter more desperate given their current state of affairs, but David Moyes does need a replacement for Sebastien Haller and the Toffees require that added depth.

Even if those on Merseyside really wanted to push to add King to their ranks, they know that, along with those in East London, they have the financial muscle to outpower those in the Midlands.

So, perhaps that’s the road to go down for the duo if they want to knock at least one party out of the race.

King did net a brace in the FA Cup at the weekend, which will only add fuel to his transfer fire.

And given that Bournemouth are sitting in the second-tier, it would be pretty difficult to deny the £45k-a-week star [Spotrac] a return back to the promised land if the door knocks from a Premier League club.
