Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Rodrigo is back fit, but he still isn’t 100 per cent.
The Spaniard has been missing for a little while now due to injury, but Bielsa says that his problem has now subsided.
However, the Argentine confirmed that just because his injury has cleared up, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s fit to play.
Bielsa was asked for updates on both Raphinha and Rodrigo in regards to whether or not they’re fit, to which he replied:
“Raphinha, no. Rodrigo, yes,”
The Argentine was then asked a further question about Rodrigo’s status.
“Healthy. That doesn’t mean he is fit to play. We will see how many minutes he can play,” Bielsa said.

It’s great to hear that Rodrigo is no longer injured, but it seems as though he won’t be starting against Brighton.
To be fair, that’s to be expected at this point from Bielsa.
The Argentine doesn’t like to rush players back from injury, often giving them a number of run-outs with the U23s before getting them involved back in first-team action.
Leeds play with such intensity and energy to the point where you have to be 100% fit if you’re to make an impact, and if Rodrigo isn’t quite up to that level of sharpness, it would make sense for him to be on the bench.
It remains to be seen just how involved Rodrigo is against Brighton on Saturday.
