Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi has not committed his future to the Merseyside club ahead of the summer transfer window, after his comments to Tribal Football.
Awoniyi has been loaned out by Liverpool to Mainz this season, and he has featured nine times in the Bundesliga.
The Nigerian is yet to feature for Liverpool’s first-team, and when asked where his future lies, the attacker kept his cards close to his chest.
“We are always in contact but presently I’m a player of Mainz05 and that’s where my focus is now and we will see what happens at the end of the season,” Awoniyi said, when asked whether he would go back to Liverpool next term.
Should Awoniyi stay?

Liverpool may well be open to selling Awoniyi, as he hasn’t had the most productive loan spell.
The attacker has featured nine times for Mainz, and only found the back of the net once.
He has usually been used a rotational option, which raises questions over whether he will be able to break into a Liverpool side who have dominated the Premier League this term.
Awoniyi is now 22, and it could be best for both player and club, if he does move on at the end of the season.
