Gerard Deulofeu has told Beto ‘we are going to miss you’ following his transfer from Udinese to Sean Dyche’s Everton.

The Spain international spent several years at Goodison Park, so he knows what it’s all about donning those Everton colours, as Beto will be hoping to write his name into the club’s legendary books.

When the news was confirmed and Beto was named an Everton player, Gerard Deulofeu wrote on his Instagram story ‘enjoy the Toffees lad’.

This is a much-needed transfer and arrival for Everton because, after three games, not only have they failed to pick up a single point, but they are yet to score a goal.

Not only that, Dominic Calvert-Lewin just can’t stay away from the treatment room, with his latest issue being an unfortunate facial injury he suffered at Villa Park, whilst Neal Maupay’s form is not on the floor, but deep underground.

Nonetheless, once Beto’s move was confirmed, this is what his now former Udinese teammate Deulofeu wrote to the player via his socials.

“Hope you enjoyed your stay with us and learnt a lot to continue the wonderful successful career you will have,” said Deulofeu. “We’ll miss you. And now. Enjoy the Toffees, lad.”

Can Beto lift the Everton gloom?

Beto’s goalscoring record might not make for great reading in Serie A, he has 21 in 61 games, but he is a far better player than that.

From the off, the 25-year-old is a typical Sean Dyche player because he can be that physical presence and player that helps link up play in the final third.

This is where Everton fans will be hoping that Beto can get the best out of those around him because, not only does he need to score goals, but so do the likes of Alex Iwobi, Arnaut Danjuma, and the likes of Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison, who are yet to play this season.
