Nuno Espirito Santo spoke in awe of Liverpool last night and stated that they have ‘speed’, ‘talent’ and they are ‘strong’ after Wolves suffered a 4-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, as he told his press conference.

The Wolves boss also admitted that his players ‘weren’t able to deal’ with the constant ‘pressing’ from Liverpool, which didn’t allow his team to settle or have possession of the ball.

In recent seasons, Wolves have been tough performers for those on Merseyside, but the 2000 fans that were present witnessed a pretty easy night for their team.

Nuno was pretty honest in his assessment of the game after the match, as he shared his thoughts on how Liverpool made life difficult for Wolves.

“Liverpool performed better than us, no doubt about it,” said Nuno. “The result is the reflection of the performance on the pitch. They have speed, they have talent and they are strong.

He also told beIN SPORTS (06/12/20 at 9:25 pm) “I think we were not able to deal with the pressing of Liverpool.

“Every time we had a couple of passes, we couldn’t have this spell of possession with the ball. We lose the ball too soon. Even in the moment of recovery, we weren’t able to counter-attack and have possession. We were not able to deal with the pressing of Liverpool.”

Injury crisis? What injury crisis? This Liverpool team are performing like Virgil van Dijk’s ghost is playing at the heart of their defence.

Whether it’s in the Champions League or in the Premier League, it’s been some response from the champions to the constant setbacks they have had to recover from.

It begs the question, if Liverpool can cause this type of havoc when they don’t have their strongest XI on the pitch then others will wonder what will come their way when they do become stronger during these coming weeks and months.
