Newcastle United striker, Callum Wilson, has shared his thoughts on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka recently mocking his England teammate, James Maddison, by doing the darts celebration against Tottenham.

Bukayo Saka, albeit it went down as an own goal, helped open the scoring for Arsenal in the north London derby, before he proceeded to mimic James Maddison’s darts celebration.

That game was the early kick-off on Sunday, with Newcastle United, who battered Sheffield United 8-0, playing later on that day.

Callum Wilson would feature and score at Bramall Lane, but he shared that while he was making his way to the ground, he saw what Bukayo Saka did to James Maddison and he thought ‘oh no’, as he told The Footballers Football Podcast.

Of course, for the Tottenham playmaker, he feels he got the last laugh because he turned his national teammate to equalise via Son Heung-min later on in that half.

All in all, it shows the good vibes the England players have with one another and how they can also back it up with performances.

Callum Wilson on Saka’s darts celebration

“I did see it,” said Wilson. “Saks (Saka) is funny. He did Rashford’s celebration before and now he has done Madders’ one.

“So, I am not sure if they have had a bit of banter with each other and said ‘If I score against you, then I am going to do your celebration’. It was funny to see.

“I watch watching the game, we were on the coach I think, on the way to our match and I saw Saks doing the darts celebration and I thought ‘oh no’, then Madders got an assist, and it was by turning Saks. I was thinking ‘oh no’.

“I wanted him to do the darts celebration back, but he didn’t. He just did Son’s celebration. It was too funny.”

North London derby delivers again

In terms of entertainment, it’s what the north London derby typically throws up. Amazing football and goals being scored for fun.

The reverse fixture at Tottenham’s Stadium isn’t going to be any different because Ange Postecoglou’s side will come at Arsenal again.

And as Mikel Arteta’s side have been doing for a while now, they won’t back down.

All of which increase the chances of more darts celebrations being used by both sets of players.
