‘We were aware’: Thomas Partey’s Dad says Arsenal beat two other clubs to sign his Son

Arsenal’s newest recruit Thomas Partey’s Father, Jacob, has revealed to Joy News Online that he was aware Chelsea and Juventus also wanted to sign his son.

Partey moved to Arsenal on deadline day from Atletico Madrid, and the deal went through rapidly.

Arsenal shocked Atleti by activating Partey’s release clause and forcing through a deal in just a matter of hours.

But Jacob Partey says that he wasn’t surprised when the Gunners came in for his son, as they were aware of the building interest from multiple clubs in him.

“We actually weren’t disturbed by anything because we hoped a bigger team will come for Partey,” Partey’s Dad said.

“We were aware of the [other teams that were interested: Juventus, Chelsea and so forth. So about all these we knew God was with us. From that minute we started to dance to ‘Party after Party’.”

Partey’s Father’s excitement about his Son’s move to Arsenal is matched by the supporters of the North London club.

Arsenal fans have been rejoicing in the signing of the Ghanian defensive midfielder, who should help them tighten up significantly.

For years now Arsenal have lacked a player with Partey’s skillset, and his arrival should help them be much tougher to beat.

Partey is expected to walk straight into Arsenal’s starting line-up, and he could make his debut at the weekend, when Mikel Arteta’s side take on Manchester City.
