Dimitar Berbatov has welcomed Heung-Min Son to the four-goal club on Instagram following his stunning performance for Tottenham on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s side put five past Southampton, with Son netting four of those goals, all of which were remarkably assisted by Harry Kane.
If scoring four goals is remarkable enough, Berbatov himself has gone one better because he scored five goals for Manchester United against Blackburn in 2010.
Nonetheless, when Tottenham’s Instagram account posted their appreciation at Son netting four, this is what Berbatov wrote undernaeath in the comments section:
“@spursofficial welcome to club 4 @hm_son7… next step, we wait for you in the club five”
It has topped off quite a remarkable week for those at Tottenham because 24 hours after securing the signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon, they have put their first points on the board for the season in a pretty emphatic fashion.
Only last week, it was all doom and gloom for one side of North London.
They had just suffered a home defeat to Everton. That performance was beyond lacklustre. The summer signings weren’t exactly lighting up the place and there was huge pressure on the shoulders of Mourinho.
But it just goes to show what a difference a week and a couple of signings can make.
