The West Bromwich Albion star has settled quickly into life at the Hawthorns.

West Brom’s on-loan hitman Dwight Gayle sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, and opened up about his long-term friendship with Baggies teammate Jake Livermore, discussing the pair’s rivalry from when they were just young boys.
Gayle, 28, joined West Brom from Newcastle United in the summer, on a season-long loan deal, and he has began his career at the Hawthorns in excellent fashion, scoring nine goals in 14 Championship appearances thus far.
The striker has made a real difference to the way in which the Baggies go about their business in the final third, and he has settled in extremely quickly.
He would have been helped to settle quickly by Jake Livermore.
The pair have known each other since they were just eight-years-old, and Gayle shared the battles that he has enjoyed with his teammate throughout the years, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“Me and Jakey have got a lot of history. We used to play against each other when we were young when he was at Tottenham and I was at Arsenal; from the age of eight to 12. We played against each other in central midfield so there was a bit of competition. We always used to go for each other.”
Next up for West Brom is a trip to Ipswich Town on November 23rd, and Gayle will be hopeful of adding to his already impressive goal tally for the Baggies this season.
