‘We think it could be broken’: Manager comments on Oliver Skipp injury

It looks like Tottenham Hotspur loanee Oliver Skipp may have broken his foot.

In quite a Spursy turn of events, Skipp, who has been instrumental in helping Norwich City to Premier League promotion, seems to have suffered an injury in the Canaries’ penultimate game of the season.

City were crowned Championship winners on Saturday in a 4-1 win over Reading at Carrow Road.

During the post-match celebrations on the field, Skipp, one of Tottenham’s most exciting young players, was spotted wearing a protective boot and walking with the aid of crutches.

And manager Daniel Farke has revealed that it looks like has suffered a broken bone in his foot.

He told EDP 24: “It is an issue with his foot. We think it could be broken. It is a shame because he was unbelievable this season. One of our outstanding players. It was pretty painful for him and our physios’ first assessment was they are not that optimistic for him.”

What a hammer blow this is for the lad.

It isn’t fair that Skipp – voted Norwich’s third-best player this season – has been an ever-present figure for literally the entire campaign, starting 44 of a possible 45 games, and then pick up an injury like this.

Skipp himself would’ve been hoping to return to Tottenham and stake a serious claim in their first team next season.

But this might mean that the Lilywhites’ next manager will get to see other players up close before him potentially and that can only be a big disadvantage.
