Darren Ambrose has bigged up West Ham United for signing Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Mohammed Kudus this summer.

After selling Declan Rice for a club-record transfer, West Ham United proceeded to back David Moyes with top-quality purchases, with Ambrose comparing their summer window to when Tottenham sold Gareth Bale.

The Tottenham-supporting pundit thinks that when Bale left Spurs for Real Madrid, they spent ‘unwisely’ on players, but he thinks David Moyes’s side have done the opposite, as he told talkSPORT.

It’s still early days, but so far, the signs are pretty positive for the West Ham faithful.

After four Premier League games, they are unbeaten, including beating the likes of Brighton and Chelsea, as they currently occupy a Champions League spot.

James Ward-Prowse, for instance, supplied two assists on his debut against Chelsea, as he has settled in straight away, whilst Moyes is yet to properly unleash Kudus.

West Ham’s summer transfer business after selling Rice

“Spent very, very well,” said Ambrose. “Alvarez, Ward-Prowse and Kudus. Probably those three players, for the same price, as you sold Declan Rice.

“We talked about Gareth Bale and Spurs spending that unwisely. That is sensational business.”

Where will West Ham finish this season?

There was a point during the summer when there was a bit of gloom as fans didn’t trust the board to properly spend Rice’s money.

And whilst there was a slight delay in players coming in, as soon as the first landed, the names started rolling in, to the appreciation of the West Ham faithful.

Now, it’s still early days, but so far, the signs are positive, with European football set to kick in this month.
