It came on the back of another 4-0 defeat as Tottenham Hotspur cruised to victory at Elland Road.
Naturally, now everybody is talking about who’s coming in to succeed the legendary Argentine.
Who’s replacing Bielsa at Leeds?
Speculation is rife that Leeds are set to appoint American manager Jesse Marsch [The Guardian].
Marsch has been out of work since parting company with Red Bull Leipzig earlier this season, having had success in Europe already with Salzburg.
In Austria, Marsch managed a certain Erling Haaland and based on the Borussia Dortmund superstar’s comments, Leeds might be getting a top manager.
Here’s what the Norwegian sensation said about his former manager to CBS Sports in 2020: “Jesse and I had a great relationship. We still talk on the phone sometimes. He was an amazing manager for me, and we had some great memories together.”
Supporters of the Elland Road club have a particular fondness for Haaland.
No, not strictly because he’s an unbelievable striker, but because he was born in Leeds.
The 21-year-old is the son of former United player Alf-Inge and no doubt that Whites fans will be even more excited by Marsch if one of their own has vouched for him.
