Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Fernando Llorente signed for Eibar on a free transfer.

Llorente is of course a former Tottenham player, and as strange as this sounds, they never really replaced the Spanaird after his departure in 2019.

Yes, Llorente wasn’t a key player for Spurs by any stretch of the imagination, but he was a handy back-up striker behind Harry Kane, and to this day, Spurs still don’t have a player of that calibre behind Kane.

Indeed, nowadays, Kane’s understudy is 17-year-old Dane Scarlett who has never scored a single goal in the Premier League.

Llorente was available on a free up until he joined Eibar, and many Spurs supporters are rather gutted that their club didn’t go for the former Swansea City man.

To be fair, Llorente probably would have done a job for Spurs if he was brought in. He’d add an extra dynamic to their attack and he’d add some much-needed competition for Harry Kane who is desperately struggling for form.

Here’s what Spurs supporters have been saying about Llorente’s move on social media…
