Speaking on the Inside Elland Road Podcast, the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth has been discussing Leeds United’s loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend and what Sean Dyche did after the game.
The Everton manager was present at the City Ground on Sunday to watch two of his relegation rivals face off against one another.
Dyche was seemingly quite happy with what he saw at the game as Leeds were beaten by the Reds, and apparently, after the match Dyche was straight into the nearest pub for a celebratory drink after watching Leeds drop points.
What Dyche did
Smyth shared what he saw Dyche do after the game.
“Everton have Sean Dyche in and he was there at the City Ground, we saw him after the game didn’t we? Sauntering up the hill and turning right straight into the nearest pub potentially for a celebratory drink after having watched Leeds one of his relegation rivals,” Smyth said.
Cause for celebration
We’re sure that Dyche wasn’t the only Evertonian celebrating with a drink on Sunday after Leeds were beaten by Forest.
Let’s be honest, the Whites were abysmal at the City Ground, they looked every bit relegation contenders, and it would make sense if Dyche felt buoyed after watching this game.
Dyche’s only job at the moment is to keep Everton in the Premier League, and he must be feeling confident after watching his team beat Arsenal on Saturday and then seeing Leeds lose in such a manner on Sunday.
However, now that Jesse Marsch has been sacked, Leeds have the chance to turn their fortunes around and pile the pressure back on teams like Everton and their manager Sean Dyche.
Make no mistake about it, there will be twists and turns in this relegation battle.
