The Finnish season is about to get underway where IFK Mariehamn will be looking to defend their first ever title.
One team hoping to challenge will be KuPS – who are captained by a player Leeds United fans will know well.
Earlier this week it was announced that 33-year-old Sebastian Sorsa will be the club’s new captain.
So what better time than to revisit his move to Leeds in 2008.
It looked a good move at the time. Signed from HJK Helsinki the 23-year-old looked a potential top talent.
He joined Leeds on an 18-month contract after impressing on trial but he never played a game for Leeds, who were then in League One. He was signed by Dennis Wise, who was gone toward the end of the month, and by the summer Sorsa left Leeds as one of the clubs least memorable signings of all time.
He went on to join Hamilton Academical before heading back to HJK and going on to become a Finland international.
After eight years, he left the capital club in January and will now be hoping to lead KuPS up the Finnish ladder.
