Patrick Vieira has been speaking to the media ahead of the Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and Brighton on Friday evening.

What’s the story?

Well, the 45-year-old admitted he wants to bring more experience to his young Crystal Palace side before the January transfer window ends.

As quoted by Football London, Vieira said: “Every manager will evaluate their squad in this month and what we need to improve. Looking at the Millwall game, and how young and inexperienced we can be at times, we need young players supported with experience.”

The Eagles lost plenty of experience back in the summer, as the likes of Gary Cahill, Scott Dann, Andros Townsend and James McCarthy left SE25.

They have been replaced by spritely, youthful players such as Conor Gallagher, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi, and while they have made Crystal Palace great to watch, a lack of gamesmanship has often been seen.

Vieira has watched his young guns concede plenty of late goals and lose their grip on games after conceding, which is perhaps why he’d like to add a more seasoned professional to his ranks this month.

Who could Patrick Vieira bring to Crystal Palace?

According to The Times, the south Londoners are believed to be in talks with Arsenal over a move for Eddie Nketiah.

However, at 22 years of age, the striker cannot provide the experience Vieira wants.

However, a few older players – both of whom are midfielders – are said to be in Crystal Palace’s sights.

According to The Athletic, 26-year-old Andre-Frank Anguissa is wanted by the Eagles, who you may remember from his time in the Premier League with Fulham last season.

However, the Cameroon international is currently on loan at Napoli, where he is expected to sign a permanent deal.

In addition to Anguissa, Tutto Mercato Web believe Aaron Ramsey is a target for Vieira.

The 31-year-old has made 475 appearances throughout his career, with 262 of those coming in the Premier League.

Should the 71-cap Welshman arrive at Crystal Palace, he would surely be able to provide the experience Vieira is looking for this month.
