Mauricio Pochettino faced the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s hugely important Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven at Wembley, and provided an injury update on Mousa Dembele, after the Belgian was forced off with an ankle injury after just seven minutes against Wolves on Saturday, as quoted by Football.London.

The Belgium international remains one of Spurs’ most important players, with his tenacity and drive in the middle of the park providing Pochettino with a somewhat unique option.

Tottenham do have plenty of options in the midfield department, however, so they will not be in any rush to bring the 31-year-old back.

Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and responded when asked whether Dembele is close to returning to action, as quoted by Football.London:

Tottenham fans will be hoping that Dembele is back and available for selection sooner rather than later, as their side looks to cement their place inside the top four of the Premier League, as well as keeping alive their feint hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
