Some Rangers fans on Twitter have parked their animosity toward Celtic to agree that this afternoon’s announcement regarding allocation at Parkhead is a joke.

The Hoops are back in Champions League action on Tuesday as they host Midtjylland in Glasgow in a second-round qualifier.

Celtic had hoped to allow 18,000 fans admission to Paradise for the clash but it has been confirmed that it’s only half that amount – and even Rangers fans have put the rivalry to one side in support of their Old Firm enemies.

The Bhoys added in their statement that they were disappointed by the ruling.

Here’s how some fans of the Ibrox club reacted on Twitter:

According to The Scottish Sun, senior officials at Celtic had pushed for a much bigger allocation and referenced the fact that Wembley housed 60,000 supporters for the Euro 2020 final last weekend.

Steven Gerrard’s side, who won the Premiership title by 25 points last season, will enter the Champions League qualification phase at the third round and it remains to be seen what sort of attendance will be approved to attend Ibrox for the tie, the first leg of which takes place on August 3 or 4.
