It seems as though Gini Wijnaldum’s time at Liverpool could be coming to an end.

On Tuesday, the technically-gifted midfielder told his pre-match press conference that he would be ‘devastated’ not to play for Liverpool again.

Liverpool supporters are eager for him to put pen-to-paper but many are frustrated that a deal might not happen and they think he will be off.

It has been well-documented that Wijnaldum’s contract will come to an end in the summer, but there seemingly hasn’t been any progression in terms of keeping the Dutchman on Merseyside.

It’s been nearly five years since Liverpool paid Newcastle £25 million for Wijnaldum’s (BBC Sport) services and it’s fair to say that he has been worth every penny.

An underrated figure in the colours of the Premier League champions, it will be a big blow for Jurgen Klopp if he cannot keep the 30-year-old at Anfield next term.

And Liverpool fans think he should just sign on the dotted line, as some feel wages are a stumbling block in this deal.

As things stand, Wijnaldum is heading in one direction and that’s towards the Anfield exit door unless something drastic happens during these final few months.

Here is a selection of Liverpool fans reacting to Wijnaldum’s comments:
