Kevin Campbell has shared that he would rather Arsenal sign Liverpool transfer target Youri Tielemans than Yunus Musah because the Leicester City midfielder is ‘proven’, as he told the Highbury Squad.

The Belgium international, who enjoyed a disappointing World Cup campaign, is a free transfer at the end of the season and he is set to head for the King Power exit door.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been long-admirers of the player, who is suited to a possession-based team, where he can dictate the tempo of the game and showcase his textbook technical shooting masterclass from distance.

Not many players can argue to be better than Tielemans from distance in the Premier League. and if there is anyone, then his name is probably Kevin de Bruyne.

Either way, when former Gooner Campbell was asked to pick between Tielemans and former Hale-End star, Musah, he shared why he picks the Foxes star.

“Tielemans, where we are, we need proven,” said Campbell. “Musah could be a good signing further forward, maybe in the summer.

“But Tielemans right now.”

LIVERPOOL OR ARSENAL

Both need midfielders in January, Liverpool more than Mikel Arteta’s side because of their troubles in the middle of the park.

Arsenal need someone to add depth and quality to their midfield area because if they have a few injuries, like they have with Gabriel Jesus, then fans will fear the worst.

Plus, with Tielemans out of contract in the summer, it wouldn’t be a surprise if teams push the boat out early and put money on the table to sign him next month.
