Paris FC have confirmed that reported Leeds United target Samuel Yohou is free to find a new club this summer, with sporting director Federic Hebert explaining the decision in conversation with Le Parisien.
Le10 Sport broke the news in May that a late-blooming centre-back had found himself on Victor Orta’s radar after a fine season in Ligue 2.
Yohou is a classy, ball-playing centre-half who idolises the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Marquinhos and Clement Lenglet.
With that in mind, the 28-year-old Ivorian should have no trouble adapting to Marcelo Bielsa’s fluid, free-wheeling football if Elland Road is to be his destination.
“We made the choice to separate from him simply to leave him with other options,” says Hebert, suggesting that Paris FC were never going to stand in Yohou’s way if he is given the chance to make a life-changing move across the Channel.
Orta, Leeds’ affable, obsessive director of football, pulled off one of the deals of the summer when he brought Ben White to Elland Road on a season-long loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2019.

With arguably the club’s finest centre-half since Rio Ferdinand set to depart in a matter of weeks, Bielsa and co will be hoping that Orta can pull a rabbit out of the hat once again.
Yohou would not cost Leeds a penny and he certainly appears to suit Leeds’ domineering style of play down to the ground – two boxes firmly ticked, then.
