Leeds United fans were full of praise for Ben White after he made his England debut on Wednesday night.
The Three Lions recorded a 1-0 win over Austria in an international friendly, with the one-time Leeds star coming on as a second-half substitute.
Even though White was on the field for a brief period of time, he impressed the Leeds faithful, including making a brilliant block on the line.
After Jordan Pickford’s punch landed in the path of an Austrian player, White did very well to read the situation, get himself on the line and clear a nailed-on equaliser.
There is a sense of Leeds fans being proud of White’s debut yesterday because they feel they played a huge part in his road to representing his country.
Only last season, he was earning promotion in Leeds colours and now he’s donning the colours of the Three Lions.
The only disappointment from the Leeds faithful is that he won’t be going to the Euros, with many thinking that he should have been given that golden ticket.
Even though Gareth Southgate selected ten defenders in his 26-man list, only four were out-and-out centre-backs.
Perhaps he should have had room for at least one more, especially with Harry Maguire’s injury concern, but then again, more right-backs are needed.
Nonetheless, Leeds fans loved White’s debut performance for his country last night:
