Harry Kane has started the 2021/22 Premier League season is in poor form, with the England captain so far having a goal record of zero in five games.
The Tottenham star drew another blank this weekend as the north London side were easily beaten 3-0 by Chelsea. The defeat came a week after another loss to an English capital side by the same scoreline in Crystal Palace.
With Kane coming off the back of a summer where his future was up in the air, it is perhaps no surprise that the striker’s goal record this campaign has taken a while to get going.
Yet a surprising stat from OptaJoe has really highlighted just how poor Kane has been this season. The England attacker has failed to score in his first four Premier League appearances of a season for the first time since 2015/16.
Moreover, Kane has attempted just four shots in this campaign, with Spurs in total scoring just three goals in the Premier League. Goal record aside, it has been a shocker of a season so far for the Tottenham star.

Yet for Arsenal fans on social media, they see this surprising stat as a bad thing ahead of next weekend’s North London Derby.
Kane is one of the most prolific players in the history of the rivalry. And Arsenal supporters are convinced that the Spurs talisman will be on the scoresheet when the two sides meet next weekend at the Emirates.
Arsenal have managed to regain some form after beating Norwich City and Burnley. But Spurs will be the real test for Mikel Arteta’s side, even with Kane yet to add to his goal record this season.
