Leeds United Chief Executive Angus Kinnear has said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic that the club knows that there is interest in Patrick Bamford, amid speculation linking the striker with Liverpool.
Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that Bamford signed a contract extension at Leeds last summer and is now tied at the Whites until the summer of 2023.
The report claimed that Liverpool are one of several clubs who admire the 27-year-old.
Kinnear has been coy on whether the former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker has signed an extension, but he seems confident that the Englishman will not leave Elland Road this summer.
The Leeds Chief Executive said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic: “Patrick is in a good place. We want him for the long term. We know there’s interest from other places, so I am very confident where we will end up with Patrick.”

Bamford has been superb for Leeds over the years and is a big player in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 35 Premier League games this season.
There is no surprise that Liverpool are reportedly interested in the Englishman, but it is hard to see Leeds let him leave him this summer.
Of course, money talks, but Leeds are unlikely to sell Bamford without putting up a fight.
