Marcus Rashford told ITV Sport that England will ‘win more games’ if they have Aston Villa superstar, Jack Grealish, in their team.
The Manchester United forward converted a penalty, which was won by the Villa man in the second half, as England beat Romania 1-0 in an international friendly on Sunday.
Whilst Grealish has started back-to-back games for his country, the expert ball-carrier is seemingly competing with the Manchester United academy product for a starting spot for the Three Lions.
Judging by today’s performance, Rashford, Luke Shaw and Grealish were a constant threat on that left-hand side for England and they performed like they have played with each other for years.
Nonetheless, Villa fans will love Rashford’s claim about Grealish, who produced yet another Man of the Match performance in England colours.
“I think he’s a great player,” said Rashford. “I think he will definitely grow and grow in an England shirt.
“We know from training what he can do. We know from the Premier League what he can do.
“And, for us, it’s just about allowing him to reach that full potential in an England shirt and getting the best out of him. I think that way we will win more games with him in the team.”

It will be interesting to see if Grealish has done enough to break into Southgate’s starting XI for their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia next week.
Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Grealish, Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount are seemingly competing for those attacking spots – Harry Kane being the obvious starter up front.
If Southgate plays a back four then Grealish has more of a chance of starting, but if it’s three at the back and a two-man midfield then the only position the boyhood Villa fan will be played in is out on the left.
It’s pretty clear that Grealish needs to start, and that then requires Southgate playing four at the back.
