Harry Kane has praised Cristian Romero for the part he played in Tottenham Hotspur recording a much-needed 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Before the game, Ryan Mason made a number of big calls, including dropping Eric Dier to the bench and starting Cristian Romero alongside Clement Lenglet.
It was a big call from Mason because someone like Dier, and Ivan Perisic, are senior players, so that brave decision ended up working out, even though it could have backfired.

Many Tottenham fans will claim all of that has been a long time coming because the defence has been the biggest issue from day dot.
Well, if Spurs are to turn their defensive fortunes around in the long run, then someone like Romero has to play a part because he is their best defender, who was praised by Harry Kane, as he told Sky Sports News (06/05/23).
“Everyone (had a good game),” said Kane. “Cristian was great and we know the qualities he has got on the ball as well.
“He played a great ball through to Sonny. Unfortunately, he couldn’t finish it.”

ROMERO FINDING FORM
It’s one game and an away trip to Villa Park awaits on Saturday, where that all-over-the-shop and leaky defence is going to be seriously tested.
In weeks gone by, Romero has been as big of an issue as anybody else at the back.
Well, whilst he found some form against Palace, there are still plenty more games left on the clock where things could go wrong again. Mainly away from home!
