Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has told Football Oranje that he does think Liverpool leave gaps in behind their defence to exploit.

Ajax are set to take on Liverpool this evening in the Champions League, in what could be a decisive game for both sides.

If Jurgen Klopp’s side can win they will seal their qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.

However, an Ajax victory would see them leapfrog Liverpool in the group standings.

And Ten Hag said: “We know they are going to be putting a lot of pressure, so we have to play our own game and be good on the ball.

“They leave spaces behind their last line, which we have to try to use.”

Whether Ajax will be able to exploit Liverpool’s high line remains to be seen, but they do have the technical players who could be capable of taking advantage of a weakened Reds’ side.

Liverpool have not looked as solid this term, which is understandable given their absentees.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently without both their first choice central defenders, while right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is also sidelined.

Liverpool were beaten by Atalanta in their last Champions League outing, and if Ajax can also take three points off them then their qualification hopes could be plunged into doubt.
