Andy Robertson has been speaking to Sky Sports about the Premier League title race, with Liverpool set to face Leeds on Wednesday.

The clash at Anfield gives Liverpool the chance to move to within just six points of Manchester City, but Robertson has sent a warning to supporters.

What’s the story?

Well, Robertson warmed fans not to expect an easy game against Leeds.

As quoted by Sky Sports, the £8m Liverpool defender said: “I don’t like the games in hand. I’d rather points on the board. We know how difficult Leeds can be. We need to just keep putting pressure on them.”

It’s nice to see Robertson pay Leeds a bit of respect, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side are struggling right now.

The Whites have just two wins in their last ten games, and are sitting six points above the relegation zone.

In that respect, it would be easy for some footballers to brush Leeds aside, although Robertson is clearly aware of how dangerous they can be.

Liverpool must beat Leeds

Manchester City rarely drop points, and if Liverpool fail to close the gap to six points with a win over Leeds, it will be very hard for Jürgen Klopp to win a second Premier League title.

The Citizens have lost just two Premier League games all season, and before a 1-1 draw against Southampton on January 22nd, Pep Guardiola’s side were on a 12-game winning run.

That is incredibly hard to compete with, so Liverpool cannot afford any slip-ups whatsoever.

Even a six-point gap is tough to close, so a nine or eight-point gap (should Liverpool draw with Leeds) will be very difficult to make up.

Nevertheless, Liverpool have a wealth of talent at their disposal, so who knows what could happen between now and the end of the season.
