Mohamed Salah has issued a message on Twitter the day after Liverpool’s thrilling 2-2 draw at home against Manchester City.
The 29-year-old attacker scored one of the goals of the season as City came from behind twice to claim a point at Anfield. It was a huge performance from Salah, who was key to Liverpool keeping control of the game despite pressure from Pep Guardiola’s side.
It was a fixture that will go down as one of the most entertaining of this campaign. An end-to-end contest of the finest quality the Premier League had to offer ended fittingly in a draw. Yet for Salah, the result was not what the Reds wanted.
The former AS Roma star posted to his official Twitter account this morning: “We really wanted to win this one but we’re still in the game. “We’re going for the title and we have what it takes.”
Indeed, it is a stern warning to Liverpool’s Premier League rivals. This season is shaping up to be one of the closest in years, with just three points already separating first from eighth.
The Reds currently sit second, one point off the leaders Chelsea.
Liverpool can find motivation in Salah Twitter post

However, with the Merseyside club already playing Thomas Tuchel’s side and now City, Liverpool have two of their hardest games in the first half of the season over and done with.
And now they can focus on collecting three points against those lower in the table.
Moreover, the upcoming international break will gift Jurgen Klopp time to plan his next Premier League fixtures. With Liverpool next facing off against Watford, Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion in October.
