Emiliano Martinez has named Ezri Konsa and Emiliano Buendia as the ‘best trainers’ at Aston Villa, as he told Ben Foster’s YouTube Channel.
The Villa goalkeeper shared that, both Buendia and Konsa, ‘scream’ in training if things aren’t going too well.
For the Villa Park faithful, they won’t be too surprised that it’s the above duo doing wonders at Bodymoor Heath.
After a slow start in B6, Buendia, who has covered the most distance for Villa this season, is starting to showcase his magic when out on the pitch.
Whilst Konsa has been a very underrated figure in the West Midlands over the years and an ice-cool and Rolls-Royce of a defender.
Nonetheless, this is the insight Martinez shared of training at Villa and which players are the best.
“Ezri Konsa at centre-back, he loves winning small-sided games,” said Martinez. “He screams. Him and Emi Buendia. They are both the same.
“We have a list of the best trainer, so let’s say you win a small-sided game, you get three points. And Stevie G loves that.
“We have got Emi Buendia, he is at the top, so if he is losing a small-sided game, then he is screaming and tackling like a proper game.
“So, we have to say ‘Emi, calm it down. We have got a game in two days’. And Konsa gives it to him as well, so there is a lot of competition in training.”

When Dean Smith was sacked earlier on in the season, it was a big call by those higher up at the club.
But, so far, the call to bring in Gerrard from Rangers is looking like a positive one and the signs suggest that Villa will surge towards Europe next season.
That’s the aim for the club, and if they are to do it, then players like Buendia, Martinez and Konsa will be key.
Whilst Buendia is out of the XI right now, he will feel, in the long run, he will be a regular under Gerrard.
