Thomas Partey has claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be feeling ‘happy’ for Arsenal after his exit to Barcelona, as he told Sky Sports.

It has been a number of months since Aubameyang was stripped as Arsenal captain by Mikel Arteta, then allowed to leave for Spanish giants Barcelona, with Partey adding that everyone at the club has to ‘accept’ the call that was made by the manager.

Aubameyang was a popular member of the Emirates dressing room, but Arteta clearly saw something in the player that left him with no choice but to kick him out.

Since leaving for Spain, the Gabon star has been thriving at the Nou Camp, scoring five goals from his six La Liga matches – that’s one more than he managed this season in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, Partey was asked about Aubameyang’s departure and the player’s recent comments about the club.

“When you are given the chance as a boss, you have to make decisions as a boss,” said Partey. “Every decision he has made because he was given the chance to do it.

“We have to understand and accept because we have to accept how he wants to play. We are following it. For us, every decision he makes, we have to accept it, even if we don’t want it. It’s the decision of him and the club.

On Aubameyang comments that ‘sometimes everyone benefits from a separation’ and whether he misses him and follows him at Barca: “I watch most of the games of Barcelona and Atletico always.

“I am very happy for him. We know that he is a great person, a good player and he can score. I feel happy for him in Barcelona because he’s doing a great job there. I also think he will be watching us and be happy for us.”

At the end of the day, every big call Arteta has made at Arsenal, it is paying off.

From his call to not include then part ways with Mesut Ozil when the club desperately needed a creator to this call involving Aubameyang.

Arteta is in his first job as a manager, and that in charge of one of the biggest clubs in England, yet the improvements he has made is quite remarkable.

It just goes to show that patience can go a long way because fans are now starting to see what Arteta is bringing to the table.
