Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch has told Leeds Live that he has spoken with Victor Orta about signing a striker in the January transfer window.
Marsch has noted that Leeds wanted to sign a striker in the summer transfer window.
The American boss has said that he has spoken to Leeds’s Director of Football, Orta, about signing players in the middle of the season, suggesting that they want to bring in a striker.

Marsch said when asked about January transfer plans: “We have spoken a bit. In general, when I look at windows I look piece by piece and window by window.
“Two months project, eight months, 14, piece together how the cycle will present itself. We have targets.
“Smart enough to know we have to look at every position. We know we have young talent to draw interest. How to keep those players, how long we keep them.
“Not talking specifics. Talked enough about strikers in the summer and that has not gone away. This is the best part of working for Victor is his clarity on what suits us and what is available.”
Need for a striker
In our view, Leeds United need to sign an established and experienced striker in the January transfer window.
Now, we know that Patrick Bamford is a brilliant striker, but the Englishman has had injury problems this season.
Bamford has made four starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season.
The 29-year-old has given one assist in those games.

Leeds have to make sure that they score enough goals to stave off relegation to the Championship, and for that, they need to sign a quality number 9 who can hit the ground running at Elland Road.
