It looks like Dani Ceballos might have just hinted that he plans on leaving Arsenal for good this summer.

The Spain international has been on loan at Arsenal for the past two years.

According to La Razon, the Gunners would have to pay £22 million to sign him permanently.

But when everybody is fit, the Real Madrid-owned midfielder isn’t a first-team regular under Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

The North Londoners have played 33 Premier League games this season and Ceballos has started less than half of those – 15.

Speaking to Onda Cero back in Spain, Ceballos has admitted that it’s time to ‘settle down’ and revealed that he preferred football back in his homeland.

Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to his comments on Twitter:

A lot of supporters won’t be overly bothered by whether Ceballos stays or not.

In truth, he hasn’t proven a good signing and the response from Arsenal fans proves as much, more or less.

They also have Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid and there’s no question that the Emirates Stadium faithful would rather see him stay for the long term over Ceballos.

Odegaard has proven himself a revelation since joining Arsenal on a half-season loan in January.

But even then, there is some doubt that Arsenal will be able to afford the £40 million needed to fund a permanent deal.

Ceballos helped the Gunners to an FA Cup title in his first season in North London, scoring a last-minute winner against Sheffield United in the quarter finals and then posting a brilliant display in the final win over Chelsea last August.
