Everton continued their impressive return to the Premier League with a win against Norwich City on Wednesday.
Michael Keane’s goal was enough to get the Toffees their win and a push back into the top half of the league table.
Now just four points below seventh placed Tottenham, Everton’s chances of making it into the Europa League look strong.
The Toffees need to aim bigger and Ancelotti admitted that a European journey is their dream for this season.
He told the club’s official website: “We have started well after the lockdown and we have to keep going. The players are motivated and this is really good. We have a dream to achieve European qualification and I hope at the end of the season we are able to achieve it.”
Everton’s next two league games will say a lot about where they will finish at the end of this season. The Toffees host Leicester City on Tuesday before travelling to Tottenham five days later.
Two incredibly difficult games but if Ancelotti can work his magic and get back to back wins, Everton will be serious contenders for a Europa League spot by the end of this campaign.
European qualification will help Everton secure their transfer targets
The Toffees have been ambitious on the transfer market in the last few years. The likes of Richarlison, Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and even Yerry Mina are all excellent buys while the appointment of Ancelotti is arguably better than all of the above combined.
Everton will be looking to bring in top players this summer too. A place in the Europa League will make it easier for them to attract their targets and Toffees fans will be hoping that Ancelotti’s dream comes true in a month’s time.
