Michail Antonio says David Moyes’ West Ham United will ‘finish higher’ than Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Premier League this season.

The Hammers striker stated that he watched Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Wolves on Saturday and he felt that the Midlands side caused them issues.

On Sunday, Liverpool and West Ham, after their midweek European games, will lock horns at Anfield.

Michail Antonio will be expected to start on Merseyside, as he stated that the weekend clash is a ‘six pointer’, as he told The Footballer’s Football Show.

As of this moment, West Ham are sitting sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind third-placed Liverpool, who are yet to lose a game.

It’s still early days, but Antonio was sure to stick his chest out about what his team are going to do this season.

West Ham to finish above Liverpool?

“I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season,” said Antonio. “Listen, I am putting it out there.

“I watched the game (Liverpool at Wolves) because it was just before our game. Listen, Wolves could have run away with it. They had quite a few opportunities. We got them this weekend. It’s a six-pointer. We got them!”

Callum Wilson responded: “Michail, wake up! Wake up! I think he is having one of those dreams again.”

West Ham and Liverpool in Europe

This will have a big effect on how the duo perform in the Premier League this season because the Europa League is a pretty gruelling competition.

Yes, the Champions League is elite and the gulf between the two is pretty big.

But, if both teams end up going deep in Europe this term, then it will take a lot out of the players, so depth in quality will become a key factor, as you would think that Liverpool will fare better, as a result.
