Arsenal fans aren’t too impressed with what Mikel Arteta has had to say about Gabriel Martinelli.
There have been cries from the Arsenal faithful for the teenager to earn more minutes on the pitch recently, but he has either been an unused substitute or left out of the squad altogether.
Arteta told Football London, regarding Martinelli’s situation, that it’s ‘my fault’ and the versatile attacker has done ‘everything perfect’.
That has understandably angered the Arsenal faithful because they cannot understand why he’s not even coming off the bench on occasions.
Some Arsenal fans made it clear that they would like Martinelli to start against Olympiacos today, with the North London club holding a two-goal lead over the Greek outfit.
It’s probably ideal for Arteta to change up his starting XI after a number of heavy-lifting games, with more to come during these next few months.
Martinelli is a pretty popular figure in North London and before the £6 million (Goal) man’s injury, he was starting to become a key player in the team.
But his game time has been up and down, mainly down, since his return and it has to be questioned whether Arteta is just being cautious.
Cautious or not, it’s not pleasing the Arsenal supporters, who just want to see more of him.
