Former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has claimed on the ITV Football Show that Tottenham Hotspur are in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Spurs are currently on top of the league table having lost just once all season. Their win over Manchester City on Saturday showed just how much they have improved, and Jose Mourinho has been getting a ton of plaudits for his management.

Even Wilshere, who has rarely ever had a nice thing to say about Tottenham, has been positive about the club. He has labelled Mourinho as fantastic and has claimed that Spurs have a good chance of winning the league.

He said: “A lot of my family are Tottenham fans and I actually enjoy watching them play under Jose. They do look really strong – they’ve bought in Bale, they have Son and Kane up top, that’s one of the top three strike-forces in the league.”

“They have improved massively defensively, and their midfield is strong so they have a good chance, unfortunately.”

Wilshere has never had a good relationship with Spurs fans. His ‘what do you think of Tottenham’ chant in Arsenal’s FA Cup trophy parade annoyed a number of supporters, and they still haven’t forgiven him.

Many Tottenham fans reacted to Wilshere’s positive comments about the club. Almost all of them think that the former Arsenal man is trying to get a move to the white side of North London, and they have one message for him – ‘We don’t want you’.

Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter
