Patrick Bamford has told Leeds United’s official podcast that Marcelo Bielsa highlighted his side’s failure to press quickly enough against Arsenal in a team meeting on the game.

Bielsa always takes his Leeds team through video analysis of their previous games, and their display on Sunday was a disappointment.

Leeds were beaten 4-2 by Arsenal and it wasn’t until the second half that Bielsa’s side really woke up.

Leeds started to push Arsenal hard as they reduced the deficit by half, but it was too little too late.

Bamford says that Leeds’ pressing game was off against Arsenal, as they were just too slow to get pressure on the ball.

And Bielsa urged his side to take their frustrations from the defeat into their game against Wolves tomorrow evening.

“It’s worse going through a game when you’ve lost it,” the Leeds striker said.

“You probably learn more but it’s harder to watch back.

“After the game we didn’t realise that we were pressing in the right way, but the fact was we were late to every press and that got highlighted this morning.

“It’s something we have to learn from and put all our frustration towards Friday, that was the end message.”

Leeds actually sit one place above Wolves in the Premier League standings currently, which highlights just how well they have done in their first season back in the top flight.

Bielsa’s side will have to put in an improved display if they are to come away from Molineux from a positive result though, as Nuno’s side have a lot of quality at their disposal.
