Arsenal fans don’t appear to be particularly enthused over rumours that they want Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
According to 90 Minutes, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has identified Luiz as a player who could improve his side’s midfield options for next term.
Arsenal do appear to have set their sights on landing a midfielder in the summer, with plenty of targets linked.
But Luiz’s name is one which doesn’t actually seem to have excited most Gunners supporters.
Arsenal fans may be being slightly harsh on Luiz, as he has arguably been Villa’s best player since the restart.
Although the £15 million Brazilian (BBC Sport) initially struggled, he has been far more solid after getting to grips with playing regularly in the Premier League.
If Villa are to stay up they will have a lot to thank Luiz for, as he has really provided an effective shield for Villa’s defence in recent matches.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have shown that they remain vulnerable at the back – despite an improvement under Mikel Arteta – and have lost two of their last three Premier League games.
