Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Diego Llorente won’t be playing in Leeds’ final game of the season.
The Spaniard has struggled with injury throughout the campaign, and sadly it seems as though his fitness issues have again caught up with him.
Bielsa says that Llorente felt something in his muscle against Southampton and that he’s now decided that he shouldn’t play again this season.
“Llorente is not with us, throughout the first half at Southampton he felt something in his muscle that if he had continued he could have got injured where he got injured before, that’s why we decided that he shouldn’t participate in the second half of that game nor on Sunday, Every decision that I have taken I take it thinking of the player and thinking of Leeds United, not thinking in other aspects,” Bielsa said.

As strange as it sounds, this knock could have come at a good time for Llorente.
He’ll now get an extra weeks rest ahead of the Euros and this actually gives Gaetano Berardi to make one final start for Leeds after it was announced he will be leaving the club in the summer.
Of course, whether or not Bielsa plays Berardi remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Llorente won’t be playing any part.
Fingers crossed the Spaniard can have a bit more luck with injuries next season.
