Thomas Tuchel refused to confirm whether Julian Draxler would remain at PSG, after links with Leeds United this summer, as per his comments on Goal.com.

RMC Sport suggested last week that Leeds were interested in signing Draxler, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side aim to improve their midfield options.

The deal looked an ambitious one initially, and Leeds’ chances seemed to take a further blow when Draxler netted a last minute winner for PSG against Metz last night.

However, after the game, the PSG boss said that he was not guaranteeing that Draxler would stay with his side over the whole summer.

“It’s football, we can’t guarantee anything,” Tuchel said, when asked about Draxler’s future.

“During the transfer window, we can’t guarantee things because maybe the next day things will be different.

“Draxler has quality, for sure. In football, you have to show your qualities every day. It’s important at that level. You have to be ready to suffer, to be present and to be crucial for your team.

“He had a big chance in the first half. I was sure he could score with his right foot because he did it in the training session.

“He scored the goal. He ran a lot. He showed a good mentality. If he keeps playing with this mentality, he can be a very important player for us. I always count on him.”

The comments are likely to raise eye brows at Leeds, as they hardly suggest that PSG would bat away all offers.

However, even if Leeds are able to agree a fee with the French title winners, getting Draxler to come to Elland Road could be difficult.

The £30 million German international (Goal) is a huge star, and for a newly promoted team to sign a player of his calibre looks to be a real challenge.
