Some West Ham fans on social media have been reacting to The Athletic’s report about a potential part-exchange deal involving Declan Rice and Jesse Lingard.
The report states that Manchester United will be looking into the idea of using Lingard as a makeweight in a deal to bring Rice to Old Trafford, and as you can imagine, this has sparked a discussion amongst the West Ham fanbase.
Indeed, supporters had plenty to say about the idea of a swap deal, and they weren’t best pleased with the idea.
West Ham fans will of course be desperate for Lingard to join, but it seems as though keeping Rice at the club is more important in the eyes of supporters, and we can understand why.
Rice is arguably the Hammers’ most important player, and as a homegrown talent, fans understandably adore him.
It remains to be seen whether or not this deal comes to fruition, but if this is a move that is sanctioned, Hammers fans won’t be best pleased.
