KV Kortrijk will be forced to sell reported Rangers target Terem Moffi according to manager Yves Vanderhaege, but only if they receive an offer of £9 million.
Considering that the Glasgow giants have already invested around £5 million in new centre-forwards, snapping up Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten from Anderlecht and St Gallen respectively, it seems very unlikely that they will splash out on yet another number nine this summer.
But things could change quicker than Watford switch up their coaching staff.
While things have gone quiet regarding Alfredo Morelos’s future, with Lille signing Canada star Jonathan David instead, there is still plenty of interest in Rangers’ goal-scoring talisman.
A whole host of clubs south of the border have been linked and the Colombian also has plenty of admirers in Italy.
There is still a chance, then, that Moffi could emerge as a priority before the transfer window slams shut at the beginning of October.
Yet the prolific Nigerian would not come cheap.
“If we get an offer of ten million euros for Terem Moffi, we cannot refuse it,” Kortrijk’s coach tells Voetbal Primeur of a man who scored 10 times in 16 games during 2019/20.
Het Laaste Nieuws did suggest that Rangers were unwilling to pay more than £5 million for Moffi, before landing both Itten and Roofe for around £2.5 million each.
But if Morelos is spirited away by the allure of Premier League football, the Gers will have a rather sizeable wad of cash burning a hole in their back pocket.
That £9 million price-tag might not look so prohibitive then.
