Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared an update on Tottenham and the potential sale of Harry Kane.
It’s no secret that Kane could be on the move this summer, but Spurs are seemingly determined to keep hold of him.
Indeed, Castles claims that during Spurs’ advanced negotiations with Paulo Fonseca, Spurs actually told the 48-year-old that Kane wouldn’t be sold this summer.
What’s been said?
Castles shared what he knows about Spurs’ stance on Harry Kane and what they told Fonseca.
“What happens with Harry Kane is fascinating. We can tell you that in the conversations Paulo Fonseca had, he was told that Harry Kane would not be sold this summer. Harry Kane is very much pushing for that move, we’ve seen his public statements, my understanding is nothing has changed since then,” Castles said.

Has Nuno been promised the same?
One question we have to ask after hearing this is has Nuno Espirito Santo been made the same promise?
Tottenham finally have a new manager, and while they told Fonseca that Kane would be staying, we don’t know if the same vow was made to Nuno.
It’s hard to imagine that their stance has changed on that front, but you never know, Nuno may have a vision at Spurs that requires Kane to be sold, especially if his sale would allow him and Fabio Paratici to spend an extra £100m this summer.
Kane’s future is up in the air, but it is interesting to hear that Spurs told Fonseca that he would be staying this summer.
